BRIDIE HENEGHAN - Kilmaine

I met Bridie for the first time in the Tacú Centre in Ballinrobe in May 2015. I’d worked in the centre before in 2008 having produced a folklore collection from the area. Bridie played down her dresser when I was talking to her saying, claiming it was only a new yoke. I eventually called to her home in July and was delighted to see it standing proudly in her kitchen, only recently having got a fresh coat of paint. Like many dressers, the paint used on the dresser was also used on another part of the kitchen. In this case, the blue was repeated on a section of the wall over the stove.
