JOHN AND NUALA ORME - Moygowanagh

Carmel contacted me by email when she heard I was undertaking this work. The dresser belonged to her aunt and uncle who past away in the in recent years. She had sent me photos of it prior to me calling and first impressions were good.

The dresser was well presented and painted and fit perfectly into the aesthetic of the kitchen. I called to the house to meet her mother and father who pointed out the changes that were made to the dresser over the years.

The first obvious change was the glass doors. These were added on and on close inspection you can see where the original hangers on the sides for the lat to lift in and out. Like many of the painted dressers it was thick with years and layers of paint. What also struck me was the size of the dresser and from visiting another family up the road Jimmy Finnerty, we can see the same size dresser.
